Happy Tuesday everyone! Here’s kind of a miin “texture tuesday” shot? But I have finally been able to test both of these out and form some thoughts on them: @drunkelephant Umbra sheer and Umbra Tinte spf 30! These two are MINERAL sunscreens (the only form I’ll use on my face) now that I have understood that neither of these will be absorbed into my blood stream or any grossness like that. I’m not a fan of chemical sunscreens for that reason alone. So keep that in mind! Because these sit atop the skin they will wear/rub off when sweating is occurring. Let’s get into it!⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣

My first love of spf was definitely with DE’s Umbra Tinte. Over the summer I started using this baby in conjunction to D Bronzi and I finally felt like I could go #barefacedthis gave me just a little coverage and a stunning healthy glow that I didn’t feel the need for makeup anymore! I’m very fair skinned and this combo of the two gave me a gorgeous glow, that wasn’t too empowering or greasy looking, and I could end my routine right then. As fall came along, my summer tan faded, and the Tinte was looking a little orange on me. Other than the winter months, this guy will be my go-to. It does tend to be a tiny bit more tacky in consistency and take longer to rub into the skin and absorb. (More $$ per product as well)⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Umbra sheer!!** This was not my favorite in the beginning.. I wasn’t comfortable in my skin, I needed a little coverage, and this made me look slightly more pale than I already was. BUT that has changed with my addition of some D Bronzi for a hint of color without any orange-ness on my skin. This does have a slight white cast at first but as you rub it into the skin that completely goes away. I don’t find that I have to rub it in as long as the Tinte version, and it absorbs quicker. Overall this is my go-to now that winter is rapidly approaching and you get more product for your value with this one. ⁣⁣⁣

*between these two spf I have to be perfectly honest: I don’t think that either of these layer nicely under makeup (because they aren’t designed to do so) and they both have an “interesting” smell to them which is the natural zinc oxide. I love that these both have the cleanest possible ingredients that you can find in an spf. I think 30 spf is a reasonable protection level for everyday use. I do find these to be a little drying due to zinc oxide so I bump up my moisturizers when using. I will forever repurchase these beauties! ⁣⁣
